From the qualities that make one a true disciple, Ma Gurupriya takes us to the other shore of seekerhood – what are the attributes that go against being a sat-shishya. With characteristic firm but loving motherliness, Ma prevails upon us to take a good, long, hard, honest look at our inner selves to identify and eliminate these deleterious traits.
One of the most troublesome defects is a lack of straightforwardness. To be completely transparent with humility and kindness, not hiding any facet of our thoughts behind different masks in different situations, yet mindful of not hurting the other’s feelings, this is a challenge almost all of us face constantly. To be open with each other, going beyond preferences and prejudices, is to act from the position of the impartial, universal Soul. So blessed are we to be guided to that position slowly but surely, by our benevolent Spiritual Masters.
